About Kevin Patrick Fleming
I started playing guitar at the age of 11 and it would be easy to call it a lifelong obsession. After 7 years of self-learning, I auditioned and made it into Music School at Kennesaw State University, studying classical guitar with award-winning performer and instructor, Mary Akerman. After earning my Bachelors in Music Performance, I headed down to Florida State University to embark on a Masters in classical guitar, studying under the world-renowned Bruce Holzman. In my decade of classical guitar study, I was fortunate enough to learn all of the most advanced level styles and techniques for fingerstyle guitar.
I went on to win two state guitar competitions in Georgia and Mississippi and even a Fourth-Prize in the East Carolina International Guitar Festival. I also became an assistant professor of guitar at multiple colleges and always had a private studio of students on multiple instruments. Ive performed with dozens of bands, recorded multiple albums with award-winning musicians and sound engineers, and have enjoyed a vibrant 25 year performance career.
Instruments that I play and teach:
Nylon String Guitar, Acoustic Steel String Guitar, Electric Guitar, Banjo, Ukulele, Mandolin, Lap Steel, Pedal Steel, Piano, and Music Theory.
